William "Bill" Zack, 78, Mahanoy Plane, passed away peacefully Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East, Pottsville, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Jean A. Thomas. He had been employed as a truck driver for Reading Anthracite until the time of his death.

Bill was a 1956 graduate of Gilberton Borough High School. He was of the Methodist Faith and was a US Army Veteran having served during the Viet Nam era. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 398, Frackville and the Ashland Elks Lodge 384.

Bill was a loving husband, father, pop and uncle who loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling in his RV.

Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, M. Fran "Gownley" Zack, Mahanoy Plane; his son William F. Zack, Mahanoy Plane; his two daughters: Janine and her husband Bill Simms, Ashland and Kerri Anne and her husband Ed Pavalko, Frackville; his grandchildren: Lenny Zack, Brady and Sara Simms, Amanda and Ed Pavalko. Also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Private funeral and interment services will be held at the convenience of the family.
