William J. Roche Jr.

William J. Roche Jr.,81, Ashland passed away peacefully on Monday night at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late William J. and Madeline Schmidt Roche. He had been employed as an accountant for the Pennsylvania Department of the Auditor General until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy A. Shivelhood Roche on September 20, 2017 and his brother Gerald Roche.

William is survived by his daughter Theresa and her husband Philip Morgan, Ashland; his sister, Mary Lee Miller, Ashland; his two grandchildren: Brady and Cheyanne Morgan and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville with Rev. Paul Rothermel officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.
