William J. Fitzpatrick

William J. "Fritz" Fitzpatrick of 18 Pine St., Cresswell Gardens, passed away Sunday at the Schuylkill East Medical Center after a long illness.

Born in Schuylkill Haven on July 17, 1938, he was the son of Isabelle Carroll and William J. Fitzpatrick. Bill was a life-long resident of Frackville and a graduate of Frackville High School. Though he explored different professions after high school, Fritz was a truck driver for most of his life. King Koil Mattress in Frackville employed him for many years. In addition, he also worked as a cross-country truck driver and as a driver for No. 1 Construction Company, Gilberton Coal Company, and Barletta Construction.

Fritz was well liked and had many good friends. He was renowned for his hearty laugh, his love of classic cars, his jovial and good spirited nature, and telling a good story. His mother and father, and his youngest brother, Vincent "Beaver" Fitzpatrick, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Ursaline Manfredi Fitzpatrick, a stepson, Robert Alexander of Greenville, NC, three grandchildren, Alexis, Anthony, and Caroline Alexander of Greenville, NC, and his brother, James Fitzpatrick of Frackville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in Frackville on
Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and family will receive friends at the Church from 9:30 until time of mass..There will be a private burial service at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Frackville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in his memory to the SPCA/ Ruth Steinert Memorial.
