Obituary

Vincent F. Brennan

Vincent F. Brennan, 72, of Frackville, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 28th, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late James and Sarah (Green) Brennan. In addition to his parents, Vince was preceded in death by his sisters, Sarah Weyman, Betty Weikel, and Irene Weikel; his brothers, Robert, James, Thomas, Joseph, John, Richard, Raymond and Mike “Mickey” Brennan; and a grandson, Kohl Marlow.

Vince was a 1971 graduate of North Schuylkill High School, Ashland. Vince was a member of the Sons of the VFW in Arnot and the Frackville American Legion Post 398.

He worked as a carpenter for many years, specializing as a finishing carpenter, a trade that reflected his skill, patience, and attention to detail.

Vince lived in Arizona for twenty years, a place that became a second home and where he shared many memorable visits with his family, before returning home to Pennsylvania. He was also a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Vince loved to dance and did so with pure enthusiasm and zero hesitation. He didn’t dance to impress—he danced because it made him happy, and his carefree spirit often drew others to join him on the floor.

An avid outdoorsman, Vince found true happiness in the great outdoors. He especially loved hunting and salmon fishing, passions that took him to Pine Creek and beyond. He was a proud member of multiple hunting and fishing clubs in the Pine Creek area, where he enjoyed the camaraderie, early mornings, long days in the woods and on the water, and the stories that followed. Whether tracking game or casting a line, Vince was most at peace outdoors, doing what he loved best. Above all else, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, who brought him his greatest joy.

He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Butler, and her husband, Shawn, of Frackville; his son, Craig Brennan, and his fiancée, Sarah Purcell, of Girardville; and his beloved grandchildren, Abby Smith, Bradlee Smith, Irelynn Butler, Shawn Butler, Shane Butler, Brynn Marlow, Blayke Marlow, and Ivy Brennan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2nd, at 11 a.m., at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 403 West Main Street, Girardville. with Father Brian Miller officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
