Veronica T. Flannery

Veronica T. Flannery , 91, Girardville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning at the home of her son Raymond in Fountain Springs.

Born in Colorado, she was a daughter of the late Walenty Ojoies and Anna Matna Garber. She worked in the cafeteria for the North Schuylkill School District until her retirement.

She was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, Girardville, where her and her husband Thomas devoted their talents, time and energy into the construction of the chapel along with many pieces of woodwork that could be found throughout the church. She was currently a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Frackville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Flannery in 2010; three brothers: John, Joe and Frank Garber; four sisters: Mary Bruce, Anne Barrett, Julie and Helen Garbacz.

Veronica is survived by her two sons: Raymond Jr. and his wife Beth Flannery, Fountain Springs and Thomas Flannery, Girardville; her 3 grandchildren: Raymond Flannery III and his companion Sheri Brown, Girardville, Ryan Flannery, Philadelphia and Robert Flannery, Fountain Springs; 2 great-grandchildren: Killian and Scarlett Flannery; nieces/nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Frackville with Fr. Edmund Brennan celebrating. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Friends may call at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be no calling hours on Wednesday morning.
