Thomasine M. Moran
Thomasine M. Moran, 67, Girardville, died peacefully Tuesday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center East Norwegian St., Pottsville.
Born in Fountain Springs she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret ( Snyder ) Moran. She had been employed as a food service aide for UCP, the Avenues, Pottsville, for 35 years, until her retirement.
She was a member of the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Girardville now St. Charles Borromeo Parish.
She was a graduate of the Overbrook School for the Blind, Philadelphia, a member of the Girardville Historical Society, Girardville Pride, Red Hat Society, Girardville and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Cecelia 1529, Girardville.
She was preceded in death by her brother Charles Moran, brother-in-law Frank Galdun Sr. and nephew Michael Galdun.
Thomasine is survived by her sisters; Julia Galdun, Sugarloaf, NY and Mary wife of Ronald Henning, Girardville, sister-in-law Dorothy Moran, Pottsville, nephews Frank Galdun, Lake Hiawatha, NJ, David Galdun, Schenectady, NY, John Galdun, Middletown, NY, Ron Henning, Ashland and Charles Moran, Carlisle, a niece Dorothy Botto, Pottsville also by several great nieces and nephews.
Family, friends and neighbors are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Girardville, with Rev. John W. Bambrick, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs. There will be no public viewing.
In Lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations , in Thomasine's name, be made to Avenues Foundation, 2 Park Street, Pottsville, PA17901
