Thomas C. Zerbe Jr.

Thomas C. Zerbe Jr. , 90, Harrisburg Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Thomas was born in Carlisle, PA on January 26 ^th 1932 to father Thomas C. Zerbe, Sr. Esq and Anna Viola Reese Zerbe.

Thomas was a graduate of  The Harrisburg Academy, Harrisburg PA, Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA and Dickenson School of Law, Carlisle, PA.  He was proud to be a part of the U.S. Marine Corps and was a retired Deputy Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

An accomplished equestrian, Tom greatly enjoyed his time with the Beaufort Hunt, Harrisburg PA, of which he had many happy memories and stories that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

Tom had a great respect for nature which he expressed through the art of horticulture. An accomplished and talented gardener, Tom would research and study native plants, how they interact with each other, and the benefits each would yield, both aesthetically and environmentally.  The results were breathtaking gardens that would literally stop traffic.

Tom will be remembered by those who knew him as a deep-thinking philosopher, a man of uncommon moral and physical strength, and most of all, a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Tom is survived by his wife Mary (Curry) Zerbe, Harrisburg with whom he would have spent 60 years of marriage this upcoming June; his children: Erica Zerbe, Maryland; Mark Zerbe and his wife Amanda of Harrisburg; Tara McLaughlin and her husband Frank, Phoenixville; and his grandchildren who brought him much joy.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Homeland Hospice for their compassionate care of Thomas, and for making it possible for him to remain at home with his loved ones.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
