Thomas L. Evans

Thomas L. Evans , 81, Mahanoy Plane, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Gilberton he was a son of the late Thomas and Violet " Thomas " Evans. He had been employed as the parts manager for Cummings Diesel, for almost 40 years, until his retirement.

He was a devout member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Girardville.

He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, serving as a corporal with the 1st Cavalry Division, a member of Frackville American Legion Post # 398 and the PA Sheriff's Association.

Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Helen " English ", four daughters; Colleen wife of Gary Petrewicz, Harrisburg, Joni wife of Robert Kitsock, Hershey, Susan wife of Matthew Berezwick, Mahanoy Plane and Janice wife of Dave Kutchinsky, Frackville, his brother Richard Evans, Linden NJ, his sister Joan Avenoso, Mahanoy City, his 8 grandchildren; Kelly, Shelly, Keith, Kyle, Jonathan, Lauren, Nicholas and Christopher, 6 great-grandchildren; Natalya, Brandelynn, Mason, Ella, Mia and Jillian, also by nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Girardville, with Rev. Edward B. Connolly, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass.
