Rev. Thomas F. Caddy
Rev. Thomas F. Caddy, 86, 116 Long Row Rd., Gilberton, died Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hospice Center, Allentown.
Born in Gilberton , May 24, 1922, he was a son of the late James and Catherine " Hoffman " Caddy. He had been a foreman at the former Alcoa Aluminum plant, Cressona, until his retirement in 1976, after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of WW II having served with the Army Air Corps . He was a member of Coaldale United Methodist Church, Coaldale.
He was a 1941 graduate of Gilberton High School and a 1977 graduate of both Wesley Theological Seminary and Bodkin Biblical Institute.
Rev. Caddy served as the minister of the United Methodist churches in Cressona, Cumbola, Tamaqua Salem, Coaldale, Middleport, Lehighton Ebenezer and Weissport Ebenezer.
Rev. Caddy was preceded in death by his wife the former Mary Jane "Ryan" Caddy, in 2003 and a son James Michael Caddy in 1960, also by 3 sisters Mary, Florence and Catherine and by 2 brothers Harold and James Caddy.
He is survived by three daughters; Catherine Ann and her husband Richard Dietrich, Shillington, Susan F. and her husband William W. Williams, Allentown and Carol Lynn and her husband Jack Palmer, Unity, ME, a niece Florence Borden, Lake Wynonah, six grandchildren; James Dietrich, Amy Love, Timothy Williams, Wendy Bisbort, Michael and Scott Griffith, two step-grandchildren Elizabeth Stapell and Daniel Palmer, also twelve great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild , several nieces and nephews.
Ministerial services for Rev. Caddy, will be conducted by his grandsons; Rev. Timothy Williams and Rev. Frank Love on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will be in Cressona Cemetery, Cressona. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. Family prefers contributions, in Rev. Caddy's name, be made to Coaldale United Methodist Church, c/o 260 Skyline Drive, Lehighton, PA 18235.
