Shirley Miller Delinsky , 88, of Frackville, PA died at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
Born in Mahanoy Plane, she was the daughter of Anna Curry Miller and Charles Miller. She was a graduate of Gilberton High School.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William "Buck" Delinsky and her sister Marie Miller Rafferty.
She is survived by her three children Susan Kutchinsky (Chas) of Philadelphia, PA; Janie Roberts (Tom) of Frackville, PA and Bill Delinsky (Kathleen) of Sykesville , MD. She is also survived by her brother James Miller (Kay) of Camp Hill, PA and her sister Barbara Naspinsky of Wyomissing, PA. Shirley was Mommom to six grandchildren: Kelly Gigliotti (Fred), Nicole McFetridge (Adam), Kevin Kessock, Taryn Mahon (Jimmy), Natalie Delinsky and Tess Delinsky and GiGi to five great-grandchildren: Maya and Ella Gigliotti, Keira and Gavin McFetridge, Margot Mahon and a great grandson due next month.
Shirley was active in her community and church, giving of her time and talents for decades. She was a member of the former St Joseph's Church and then St. Joseph the Worker parish for 66 years. She was a member of the Knight's of Columbus Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters and Ladies of the Elks.
She loved her family and friends unconditionally. She never gave up on anyone and always gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. Her optimism was infectious.
Shirley lived with every ounce of her being until the very end. She never stopped learning and enjoying the things she loved whether that be shopping, gardening, reading, but most of all being with family.
Shirley was a selfless mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, wife and friend. All who knew her and loved her will forever cherish how blessed they were and will miss her dearly.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, September 30th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish (St. Ann's Church), 49 North Line Street, Frackville, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
