Sarah A. "Sally" Fallon

Sarah A. "Sally" Fallon , 72, Mahanoy City, well known Mahanoy Area English teacher, passed away peacefully Sunday at Providence Place, Pottsville, with her family at her side.

Born in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Roy T. and Elizabeth Hoppes Fellows.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Mahanoy City.

She was a graduate of North Schuylkill High School, class of 1968. She went on to receive her Bachelor Degree in education from Bloomsburg University and her Masters Degree in English from Lehigh University. She spent the bulk of her career teaching at Mahanoy Area High School, where she was in charge of cheerleading and the Mahanoy Area band front. She had a real passion for instructing the MA Theater/Arts program. Sally also taught classes for LCCC and Alvernia colleges. Every Christmas season, she would volunteer for the Schuylkill Women in Crisis Center. She will be missed by her many friends that were part of her life especially on "Thirsty Thursdays."

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald P. Fallon.

Sally is survived by her four daughters; Erin, wife of David Manley, Mahanoy City; Monica, wife of Albie Williams, Brockton; Adrienne, wife of Petar Klaetsch, Portland, OR and Nicki, wife of Mike Woronko, Phoenixville; her two sisters: Susan E. and her husband Jerry Standefer, Reading and Sandra J. Hreshko, Pinellas Park, FL; her nine grandchildren; Brian, Scout, Ben, Ethan, Nick, Emma, Merit, Benson and Quinn also by nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Annie.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 19 ^th at 9 a.m.  in Christ Lutheran Church, Mahanoy City with Rev. Fred Crawford officiating. Friends may call on Monday, April 18 ^th from 5 until 8 p.m. at Mahanoy Area High School Auditorium, please enter at the elementary school entrance. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Frackville

In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions, in Sally's name, to the Schuylkill Hope Center for Victims of Domestic Violence which can be donated at the visitation.
