Ronald W. Schappell

Ronald W. Schappell, 56, 320 N. Second Street, Frackville, died shortly after arrival Saturday night at Schuylkill Medical Center, E. Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

Born in Ft. Springs he was a son of Kathleen " Robbins " Schappell Rafferty, Frackville and the late William Schappell. He was employed as a Correction Utility Plant mechanic for SCI Mahanoy.

Ron was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Frackville and was a member of East End Field and Stream, Shenandoah.

He was preceded in death by a brother William "Bill" Schappell in 2007.

In addition to his mother he is survived by two daughters Kim and Kelly Schappell, both of Frackville, a sister Trish and her husband Paul Yagielniskie, Frackville, companion Diane Austerberry, Frackville also nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Frackville, with Rev. Michael Beers, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ringtown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
