Ronald A. Chikotas

Ronald A. Chikotas , 80, Gordon, died peacefully Tuesday morning at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Born in Girardville, he was a son to the late Andrew and Anna Chikotas. He had been employed in the Railroad Industry and last worked for Conrail until his retirement.

Ronald was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Church, Giradville and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, who served during the Korean Conflict. He was a humble man who loved his family and devoted himself to Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years the former Leona Piotrowsky, who passed away in 2008, a brother Andrew Chikotas and sister Arlene Rodgers.

Ronald is survived by five sons: Leonard and wife Noreen, Millville, Bryan and wife Ann, Hellertown, Marcus and wife Linda, Hecksherville, Kristian and wife Jennifer, Mt. Carmel, and Nicholas and wife Janelle Chikotas, Frackville; three daughters: Danielle and husband Laurence Ostrom, West Chester, Kimberly Chikotas, Lower Mt. Bethel and Renee Chikotas, Hummelstown; a brother, Joseph Chikotas, Ashland; two sisters: Teresea Mulroy, Glen Mills and Tina Lentini, North Carolina. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 25 ^th , at 11 am in St. Vincent dePaul Church, Girardville with Rev. Edward B. Connolly, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment, with Military Honors, will be held in the parish cemetery, Frackville. Friends may call at the church Wednesday morning from 10 am until time of mass.
