Robert G. Jones

Robert G. Jones , 81, Mahanoy City, passed away on Thursday, March 3 ^rd at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown.

Born in Morea, he was a son of the late Raymond and Mae Jones. Bob had worked as a diesel mechanic for Slusser Brothers until his retirement.

He was a life member of both the West End Fire and Rescue Company, Mahanoy City and the Brandonville Fish and Game. He was a graduate of the former Mahanoy Township High School and is a U.S. Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters; Raymond and Howard Jones, Arlene Griffith and Lois Jones.

Bob is survived by his wife Patricia " Harviletz " Jones and his two sons; Jay Jones, Tamaqua and Alan and his wife Sarah Jones, Pine Grove Mills, PA and his two granddaughters; Kailyn and Izabel Jones, his sister-in-law Mary Alice Pittman, Carlisle, also by nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Sharon Mullins officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the German Protestant Cemetery, Mahanoy City. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
