Robert B. Antanavage

Robert B. Antanavage , 88, Cresswell Gardens, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1st at Providence Place, Pottsville with his loving family at his side.

Born in Connorton, he was a son of the late Bernard and Helen (Laconis) Antanavage.

Robert graduated from Girardville High School. After high school, he served in the United States Navy from 1954 – 1957 during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Penn State University, where he graduated with his Bachelors in June of 1961.

Robert belonged to Saint Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland where he served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He belonged to the Gordon Rifle Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy Antanavage, who died shortly after his birth; his brother, Joseph Antanavage.

Robert is survived by his wife Margaret (Rusnak) Antanavage, with whom he married on June 3, 1961; his children: Robert (Rhonda) Antanavage, Susan (John) Pulaski, Joanne (Gerard) Anthony and Diane (Mark) Stafford; his grandchildren Emily, Elizabeth, Matthew, Sarah, Lauren, Helen, Jennifer (Timothy), John (Kellee), Gerard (Caitlin), Michael (Chase), Amanda, Allison, Andrew and Mary; his great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Kathryn, Jacob, Harper, Charlotte and Riley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 5th at 11 a.m. from St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends and family are invited to Robert's viewing at the church on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at 1 p.m.
