Raymond R. " Ray " Davis Jr
., 93, Frackville, passed away peacefully Monday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center, South Jackson St. . Born in Frackville he was a son of the late Raymond and Mary " Sinkus " Davis. He had been employed as the maintenance supervisor at the former Alcoa Aluminum Plant, Cressona, for over thirty years, until his retirement. He was a member of St. Peter's UCC, Frackville. He was a US Army veteran of WW II having served with the 20th Engineer Btn in the European/African theater of operations, a 50 year member of Frackville Masonic Lodge #737 F&AM where he was a past Worshipful Master and held several offices throughout the years and was a member of the Alcoa retirees 25 year club.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Kenny Mentusky and his sister Rose Wolczanski.
Ray is survived by his wife of 65 years the former Florence E. " Sincavage ", two daughters Joanne wife of Thomas Curry, Boca Raton, FL and Elaine wife of Kenneth Mentusky, Weston Place, a brother Harry Davis, NJ and three grandchildren; Mark and his wife Kim Mentusky, Jennifer and her husband Elliott Pena and Kevin Mentusky, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Kerry Smart, pastor of St. Peters UCC, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Frackville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service.
