Patrick W. McDonald , 68, Shenandoah, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon at home with his family at his side.
Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Patrick and Ellen Brennan McDonald. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah.
Pat served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Pat was a diehard New York Yankees and Penn State fan. He was an umpire for District 24 Baseball where he mostly umpired for Ashland Little and Teener Leagues. He also served as the treasurer for Ashland Little League for many years.
He was preceded in death by his son Brian P. McDonald and his sister Loretta Silva.
Pat is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Miller McDonald, Shenandoah; two sons: Fred and his wife Hope McDonald, Girardville, Billy McDonald and his fiancé Lisa Horst, both of Ashland; his daughter Bridget McDonald, Girardville; his sister Annabelle and her husband Terry Price of Gordon; two brothers: Michael and his wife Theresa McDonald, James and his wife Cheryl McDonald, Harrisburg; his grandson Liam McDonald and his beloved dog Sammy; many nieces/nephews.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Shenandoah with Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment with full military honors will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Friends may call at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be no calling hours on Friday morning.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made, in Pat's name, to Hospice of Central PA at 1320 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17110.
