Olga Farrone

Olga "Baba" Farrone , 86, Ashland passed away peacefully Thursday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Metro and Julia Dziczek Halupa. She worked as a union secretary until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Farrone in 2012 and by her eight brothers.

Baba loved and devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and is survived by her two sons: Lawrence Farrone and his wife Sandy Jo Roemer, Lavelle and Joseph and his wife Kathy Farrone, Ashland; two daughters: Mary and her husband Rick Gomez, Pottsville and Julia "Cookie" Farrone, Ashland; a sister: Julia Cresina, Frackville; nine grandchildren: Larry, Jennifer, Kevin, Matthew, Rena, Tony, Francesca, Joey and Anne; sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland with Rev. Paul Rothermel, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mauritius Cemetery, Ashland. Friends may call at the Church on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass.
