Michelena C. "Mickey" Catizone , 100, lifelong Girardville resident, passed away peacefully Tuesday at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah.
Born in Girardville, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Concetta Fulginiti Catizone. She was a beautician and owner of Mickey's Beauty Shop, Girardville. Mickey worked as a beautician since 1945 and continued to work until well into her 80's.
She was a faithful member of the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church in which she sang in the choir for several years, now is a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish. She was a member of the Red Hats, member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Cecelia and a member of the Business and Professional Association, all of Girardville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers; Paneteleona, Peter, Anthony, Joseph and Vincent Catizone, her sister Concetta Hennessy and her lifelong companion Al Hnastion.
Mickey is survived by her brother John and his wife Diane Catizone, Lost Creek, her sisters; Marian Kleeman, Girardville, Rosemary Zelli, King of Prussia, Jean Ann wife of Joseph Kessler, Girardville and Elizabeth wife of Harold Burns, TN. Also by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Girardville. Friends may call at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville, on Sunday evening from 5 until 7 P.M. and again on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30. Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Ft. Springs.
