Michael S. Martin Jr.

Michael S. Martin Jr ., 79, Frackville, died peacefully Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Frackville he was a son of the late Michael and Mildred ( Alton ) Martin. He had been employed by Clevland Brothers, for several years and also assisted his daughter with her business " Pampered Pets ".

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Frackville. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, a member of Gear Grinders Assoc., Pottsville, a life-member of Goodwill Hose Co., Frackville, Frackville Historical Society, Frackville, Fire Police, Frackville Ambulance Assoc. and had served ,for numerous years, as the Health Code Officer in Frackville. He was a member of the original committee of the Frackville Car Cruise, to raise money for the purchase of the " Town Clock ". He was the very proud owner of his 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife the former Joan D. " Blackwell " in 1995 and his son Michael R. Martin in 1971.

He is survived by his four daughters; Joy wife of Robert Milewski, Joyce wife of John Zaleski, Juanita Martin and Tammy wife of James Meyers, two brothers; Lowell and Kenneth Martin, his grandchildren April and John Zaleski Jr. and his great-grandchild Brynn

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Gene Stevenson, officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will be in OddFellowsCemetery, Frackville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.
