Melvin C. James
Melvin C. "Mel" James , lifelong Frackville resident, died Tuesday at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Frackville.
Born in Gilberton he was a son of the late David and Madeline " Kinoble " James. He had been employed for several years for Dick's Tire Service, Ashland, until his retirement.
He was a Navy veteran of WW II. He was a life member of First United Methodist, Frackville, where he served on the church council for numerous years.
Mel is survived by his wife the former Marion L. Evans, Mahanoy City, with whom he would have celebrated 65 years of marriage in May, his son, Melvin C. Jr., Kulpmont, his daughter, Sharon Robinson, Mahanoy City, three grandchildren; Laurie DiGiuseppe, Tom Edwards and Kelly Kaplan, also seven great-grandchildren, a sister Shirley Sewinsky, North Randal, Ohio, half-sisters; Doris Roberts and Marlene Bolinsky both of Frackville, half-brothers; Ron James, Frackville and David James, Palo Alto also several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Frackville, at a later date which will be announced.
