Mary R. Sunderland

Mary Rose (Shadel) Sunderland , 78, of Frackville, went to her eternal rest on Tuesday afternoon, October 8th at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Harry T. Shadel and Anna (Heloskie) Shadel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jackie "JJ" (aka: Sport) Sunderland and her brother Harry Shadel.

She is survived by her sister, Ann Mary Shadel Rightus; nephews: Chris and Kenny Shadel, Tony and Ron Rightus and a niece Diane Shadel Rhody.

Mary was a 1963 graduate of the former Frackville High School. She worked as an operator for Bell Telephone in Frackville and also as a seamstress for the local garment factories.

She was an active member of the Church of God, Frackville and she also volunteered at two local food banks and "Meals on Wheels."

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16th at 11 a.m. at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington Street, Frackville with Pastor Edward Kopack officiating. Friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held in Holy Rosary Cemetery in the Englewood section of Frackville.
