Mary E. Sullivan

Mary E. "Nana" Sullivan, 83, of Shenandoah, passed away Monday at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, where she had been a guest for the past month.

Born in Shenandoah she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary " McGill " Corrigan. She had been employed for several years at the former Tung-Sol plant in Weatherly and later as a home health care provider for the former Holy Family Health Care, Pottsville. She had assisted her husband in the funeral business at the former Michael J. Sullivan Funeral Home, in Shenandoah, until his death in 1979.

Known for her intense love of life and her infectious laughter she will be sadly missed by her family and numerous friends she had made throughout her life.

The last member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael J. Sullivan, two brothers and two sisters: Thomas L. Corrigan, Joseph Corrigan, Helen Walsh and Betty Prestera.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter; Thomas and his wife Ellen Sullivan, Frackville, Michael and his wife Geoff Sullivan, Palm Coast, FL and Patricia and her husband Richard Giuliani, St. Augustine, Fl , twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, with two more due within the next 4 months, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Friday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Mass of Christian Burial, for Mary, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, Shenandoah, with Rev. Msgr. Bernard Flanagan, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions in Mary's name, be made to the Memorial fund of Annunciation Catholic Church, Shenandoah or to your favorite charity.
