Mary A. Shala

Mary A. Shala, 90, Lost Creek, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Ringtown, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary McEllone Dresh. She worked as an LPN for the former Pottsville Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stanley J. Shala; her two sons: Daniel and Stanley Shala Jr.; her daughter-in-law Kathleen Shala and her granddaughter Megan Shala.

Mary is survived by her daughter Ann Mary Shala, Lost Creek; her son Patrick F. and his wife Maureen Shala, Lost Creek; her six grandchildren: Patrick D. and his wife Shirley Shala, Stanley Shala, Patrick F. Shala and his companion Jill Kostowskie, Kristen and her husband Ryan McCann, Caitlin Shala and Karen Shala; her three great-grandchildren: Nolan Stanley Shala, Patrick Shala and Olivia Nicole Shala.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
