Mary Monasterski, 94, of Ashland and formerly of Girardville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Holmesville, she was a daughter of the late John J. Biscoe and Marion (Carroll) Biscoe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Thomas, Joseph, Elizabeth, John, Marion, William, Julia, Charlie, Loretta, and Cathleen.

Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Loretta Murphy-Birster and her husband, Patrick, of Ashland; two cherished grandchildren, Brigid Williams and her husband, Sean, and Terra Perry and her husband, Adam; and two great-grandchildren, Noah and Lucas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was a member of the Girardville LAOH, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Cecilia, the ILGWU, and the Lift Your Spirits Performing Arts. She enjoyed baking and sewing and was a talented seamstress. Mary also enjoyed reading, but most of all, she treasured spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Molly.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
