Mary Alice Leschik
Mary Alice (Bendrick) Leschik , 95, of Frackville, passed away Friday evening, June 17, 2022.
Born in Frackville, September 13, 1926, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Shelcusky) Bendrick.
Upon graduating from West Mahanoy Township High School in 1944, she worked at Fort Indiantown Gap performing administrative duties including processing US soldiers headed oversees and German POW's. She also worked at several garment factories and catering businesses.
Mary Alice was a very wonderful and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother. She was active in many community affairs and a longtime member of the former Annunciation BVM Church, Frackville. She was also an active member of the Frackville Elks Lodge, Catholic Daughters and Frackville Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Frank Leschik on November 13, 1995; three sisters Patricia Hribar, Dorothy Marousky and Joanna Fritz, and two brothers William and Thomas Bendrick.
Mary Alice is survived by 4 children, Cynthia Golden, of Temple, Frank Leshik (Marla) Readington Twp., NJ, Mark Leschik (Dr. Nancy) Leschik, of York and Mary Alice Snopek, Lancaster; 9 grandchildren, Christian Golden, Nina Golden Kreiser; David Leshik; Alex and Olivia Leschik; Bobby, Abigail, Peyton and Halle Snopek; and one great-grandchild, Daegn Gehris. She is also survived by a sister, Regina (John) Kacergis, Jekyll Island, GA and two brothers James Bendrick, Georgetown, TX and Joseph Bendrick, AZ.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 27 th from St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Ann's Church located at 49 N. Line Street, Frackville with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito, pastor, as the celebrant. A viewing will be held on Monday morning from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held on Wednesday, June 29 th at 12:30 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made, in Mary Alice's name, to St. Joseph the Worker Parish at 7 S. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville, PA 17931
