Mary Ann Dormer

Mary Ann Dormer , 80, Mahanoy City, passed away peacefully Thursday morning at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Griffin Fallan. She had been employed as an LPN at the former Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville until her retirement.

Mary Ann was a 1955 graduate of the former Immaculate Heart Academy, Fountain Springs and a member of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City.

Saturdays will not be the same without Mary Ann cheering on her beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She was an avid reader, loved QVC but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Dormer; her daughter, Mary Ellen Brinich and her brother, Johnny Pat Fallan.

Mary Ann  is survived by her loving children: Charlie Brinich, Frackville, Lee Ann and her husband Steve Eckroade, Philadelphia, John and his wife Karen Brinich, Mahanoy City, Jane and John Gower, Kulpmont/Frackville, Kevin Brinich, Mahanoy City, Maria and her husband Lance Morrison, Delano; her granddaughter, caretaker, best friend and her pride and joy, Molly Engleman and her husband Richard of Frackville;her brother Robert Fallan, Frackville; her sister-in-law Claire Fallan, New Jersey; her eight grandchildren: Bridget, Neal, Brian, Ellie, John Fallan, Patrick, John and Kayla; her 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City with Rev. Kevin Gallagher, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends may call at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home, Mahanoy City on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Saint Canicus Cemetery, Mahanoy City.
