Marie F. Shovlin
Marie F. Shovlin, 89, a guest of Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, former St. Clair resident, died Tuesday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center,East.
Born in St. Clair she was a daughter of the late Daniel J. and Mary " Flanigan " Shovlin. She was employed in St. Clair, for 40 years, until her retirement in 1985. She was a lifelong member of the former St. Mary's Catholic Church, now St. Clare of Assisi Church, St. Clair.
Following her retirement she moved to Longport, NJ, where she loved to be near the shore and later moved to Lansdale. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters; Margaret Burdulis, Marcella K. Shovlin, Anna Mae Ranck and Virginia Shovlin, two brothers; Daniel M. Shovlin and Edward J. Shovlin, nephews Richard Shovlin and Daniel M. Shovlin, also by her godchild John J. Shovlin.
Marie is survived by her niece Marcella V. Shovlin, Lansdale, with whom she resided for the last 10 years, also several additional nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, in St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Clair, with Msgr. William Glosser, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Family cemetery, New Philadelphia. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 11:30 a.m. until time of the mass. The family requests contributions, in Marie's name, to the memorial fund of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St., St. Clair, PA 17970
