Marie T. Munley

Marie Theresa Munley , Lost Creek, died peacefully Sunday morning at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Born in Girardville she was a daughter of the late Edward and Isabelle ( McDermott- Dean ) Long. She had been employed in the dietary department of the former Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Lost Creek

Marie was a 1944 graduate of the former West Mahanoy Twp. High School and was a past president of Good Samaritan Retiree Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband James P. " Sock " Munley, in 1998, two brothers and three sisters; Edward, Joseph, Patricia, Bernadette and Isabelle.

Marie is survived by her son James J. " Sock " Munley, at home in Lost Creek, her daughter, Patricia wife of Mark James, Shenandoah Heights, her 3 grandchildren; Eric, Megan and Sean James, nieces and nephews and will be deeply missed by her beloved pet cats.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:15 from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, Shenandoah. Interment will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 8:30 until time of service.
