Joseph P. Savakinas , formerly of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at Harbor Healthcare in Lewes, Delaware.

Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Donchock) Savakinas. He was employed as an insurance adjuster for Postal Union Insurance until his retirement.

Joe was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a graduate of the former Shenandoah Catholic High School, Shenandoah.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Bernard Savakinas.

Joe is survived by a sister Christine Sterner, Shenandoah Heights and a brother Frank and his wife Terri Savakinas, Frackville and by many nephews and cousins.

Private funeral services, with full military honors, will be held at the convenience of the family in St. George's cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
