Joseph C. Quinn
Joseph C. Quinn , 73, Girardville, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Girardville he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Gertrude L. ( Wagner ) Quinn. He had been employed in the Purchasing Department for the PA Liquor Control Board and then was employed, for 23 years, as the Director of Purchasing for Bloomsburg University until his retirement.
He was a lifetime member of the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Girardville, now St. Charles Borromeo Parish.
He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a member of Girard Hose Co. #1, AOH Jack Kehoe Division 1, both of Girardville, president of the Upper Schuylkill Pride Committee and had served on Girardville Borough Council for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by a sister Florence Omlor.
Joe is survived by his wife, of 30 years, Theresa " McAndrew " Quinn, his son Matthew husband of Autumn Quinn, Chantilly, VA, his two daughters; Angela Sharp and her fiancé Kevin Kulish and Kelly wife of Joe Tinari both of Girardville, his seven grandchildren; Justin, Jason, Joseph, Jared, Jenna, Kiara and Mackenzie, his three sisters; Gloria Brennan, Rita Quinn and Theresa Quinn, all of Girardville, also by nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Worship Center of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Girardville, with Rev. Robert T. Finlan as the celebrant. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at 1:30 p.m.. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of mass.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations, in Joe's name, be made to Girard Hose Co. #1, 120 E. Main Street, Girardville, PA 17935.
