Joseph Anthony Cress Jr.

Joseph Anthony Cress Jr. , 53, Girardville, passed away at his home on Tuesday.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of Elizabeth Banning Cress, Girardville and her late husband Joseph Cress Sr.

Joe was a member of the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Girardville, now St. Charles Borromeo Parish.

Joe was a US Army Veteran having served in the First Cavalry Division. He enjoyed reading and was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Joe was preceded in death by his father Joseph Sr. and his two brothers John and James Cress.

In addition to his mother Elizabeth, he is survived by his two daughters: Ashley and Michelle; his granddaughter Aleigha; his siblings: Elizabeth and her husband Keith Johnston, David and his wife Ann Cress, Leo Cress, Daniel and his wife Mickey Cress, Kathy and her husband Steve Toth, Thomas and his wife Tish Cress, Brian and his wife Stephanie Cress, Robert and his wife Ann Cress, Ann and her husband Michael Soucheck; sister-in-law Mary Catherine Cress; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
