Joseph A. Catizone
Joseph A. "Joe Cat" Catizone, 65, Pottsville, formerly of Girardville, died unexpectedly Thursday evening at his residence.
Born in Girardville he was a son of the late Anthony and Concetta ( Fulginiti ) Catizone. He was a longtime manager of the former Fountain Springs Country Club and was last employed by Boardman Brothers in Pottsville.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Girardville.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; Peter Anthony, Panteleona " Pat " and Anthony Catizone.
Joe is survived by Beth Devlin, Cumbola, two daughters Amy Toy Bond, King of Prussia and Stacey Lee Curran, Orwigsburg, two brothers; Vincent Catizone, Girardville and John and his wife Diane Catizone, Lost Creek, six sisters; Michelena " Mickey " Catizone, Girardville, Marian (Joseph) Kleeman , Girardville, Concetta Hennessy, Folsom, Rosemary Zelli, King of Prussia, Jean Ann ( Joe ) Kessler, Girardville and Elizabeth ( Harold ) Burns, Nashville, TN, two sisters-in-law; Joan Catizone, widow of Pat, Ashland and Jeanne Catizone, widow of Anthony, Frackville, four grandchildren; Lexi, Tyler, Lucas and Vaughn. also by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe will be sadly missed by his family, friends and relatives for he was a kind and caring soul.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at Noon in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Girardville, with Rev. Edward B. Connolly, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until time of mass.
