Joseph E. Bakerofskie

Joseph E. "Bake" Bakerofskie, 58, Girardville, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Joseph F. and Bertha (Whitley) Bakerofskie. He was employed as a truck driver for Fanelli Brothers until his retirement. He was of Protestant faith.

Known for his sense of humor and being the entertainer of the family, he could always put a smile on your face with a witty joke or a prank.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Shalamanda and a brother Jon T. Bakerofskie.

Joe is survived by his wife of 27 years, the former Kathleen J. Morrisey Bakerofskie, Girardville. Two daughters: Anita and her husband Richard Carver, Girardville and Denise and her husband Thomas Briel, Ashland; Four sisters: Judy and her husband Edward Haluska, Girardville, Mary Jo Brennan, Halifax, Charlotte and her husband Mike Perler, Reynoldburg, OH and Charlotte and her husband Troy, Philadelphia. A brother Dan Bakerofskie, Pottsville and his companion Regina Sefing. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
