John J. Zukas

John J Zukas passed away at the Trinity Mission nursing home on Sunday night after a brief illness.

He was born in Shenandoah 1924 to Frank and Eva Zukas and he attended Shenandoah High School. He spent his career in the textile industry as a cutter and spreader at numerous factories in northern Schuylkill County until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, Shenandoah.

He was preceded in death by his brother Albert Zukas and three step sisters, Mary Sienkweicz, Tillie Banket and Anne Kokus.

He is survived by his wife Mary Balavage Zukas of Shenandoah , two sons John, also of Shenandoah and Frank of Ashland, a daughter Linda Dalla Palu of New Jersey, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Internment was held at a private service attended by the family.
