John P. Sweeney

John P. Sweeney , 57, Girardville, passed away unexpectedly on September 18 ^th at Geisinger Shamokin Area Hospital.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late John and Teresa Hannon Sweeney.

John enjoyed attending school at the IU 29, Minersville, where he was a 1982 graduate. He then became employed by The Avenues. John loved to collect model cars due to their historic beauty. He was an avid follower of the WWE, enjoying their entertainment and dedication to charitable organizations especially since having attended twice.

John is survived by his sister: Terri Krick, who was also his caretaker with whom he lived with and her husband Rob ; his sister Jean Gall; his three brothers: twin brother, Joe Sweeney and Jim and his wife Helen Thompson and Steve and his wife Nanci Thompson; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 4 p.m. from The Girardville United Methodist Church, Girardville with Pastor Rose Marquardt. Friends may call at the church on Thursday afternoon from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
