John J. " Jay " Dougherty

John J. " Jay " Dougherty , 63, Emmaus, former Shenandoah resident, died unexpectedly Friday at his residence.

Born in Philadelphia he was a son of the late James D. and Betty Rose " Cuff " Dougherty. He was last employed as a counselor for Cloud Home, Pottsville.

He was a graduate of Shenandoah Catholic High School and St. Charles Borremeo, Philadelphia.

He is survived by his brother Edward J. ' Doc ' Dougherty, Emmaus, a niece and nephew: Kelly and Ted.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, for Jay, on Monday at 11 a.m. at Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, Shenandoah, with Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Friends may call at the church Monday morning from 10:30 a.m. until time of mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions, in Jay's name, to the memorial fund of Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, 129 S. Jardin Street, Shenandoah, Pa 17976
