John Harviletz
John Harviletz, 1206 W. Center Street, Mahanoy City, died Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital, Coaldale.
Born in St. Clair, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Harviletz. He had been employed as a truck driver for Reading Anthracite until his retirement. He was a member of Blessed Theresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.
He was an Army veteran of WW II having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations.
John was preceded in death by his wife the former Mary " Dugan " Harviletz, his son John (Jack) Harviletz, three brothers; Michael, Charles and George Harviletz and a sister Mary Trynosky.
Surviving are his two daughters; Mary Alice Pittman, Carlisle, and Patricia and her husband Bob Jones, Mahanoy City, six sisters; Anna Petrosky, Philadelphia, Julia Cresina, New Jersey, Elizabeth Harviletz, Frackville, Sophie Buchspics, Ashland, Margaret Riskis, Tower City and Pauline Sedar, Frackville, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Blessed Theresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, Mahanoy City with Rev. Kevin Gallagher, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Canicus Cemetery, Mahanoy City. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
