John W. Harnish

John W. Harnish , 80, Girardville, passed away Tuesday morning at his residence.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Biscoe) Harnish. He worked as a mechanic for most of his life before retiring from Ash Resources, Schuylkill Haven.

John was an Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Girardville.

He was preceded in death by his wife the former Gail Ann Greco in 2007 and a sister, Marian Fullis.

John is survived by his two sons: John and his wife Erica Harnish, Girardville and Joseph and his wife Sherrie Harnish, Pine Grove; Five grandchildren: Dylan, Steven, Jamie Lynn, Matthew and Tyler; Two great-grandchildren: Layla and Austin.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville with Rev. Edward B. Connolly officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
