John Henry Merinsky
John Henry " Hap " Merinsky, 83, Frackville, died peacefully early Friday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center, East Norwegian St., Pottsville, with his family at his side.
Born in Morea he was a son of the late Voycek and Mary Anna Marynowski. He had been employed by the Schuylkill Mall as the maintenance foreman until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Frackville.
He was a US Army veteran. He was a life member of Friendship Fire Co., Englewood, member of Six County Fireman, a life member of Knights of Columbus, Fr. James A. Hogan Council #2580, Frackville and he was an avid Phillies fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife the former Jean Blickley in 1995, his son George Merinsky, five brothers; Frank Merinsky, Joseph Merrin, Chester, Gene and Ted Marynowski.
Hap is survived by his daughter Sue wife of Wayne Frantz, Englewood, Frackville, His granddaughter Ashley wife of George Maslennikov, Shamong, NJ, his great-grandchildren; Alex and Emma Maslennikov, his sister Millie Nanna, NY, his brother and sister-in-law Jack and June Blickley and by several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Frackville with Rev. Robert T. Finlan, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Englewood. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass.
