John Bernathy

John Bernathy , 81, Gilberton, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 5 ^th at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Gilberton he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Evans Bernathy. He had been employed as a bailer for Sealy Mattress Company until his retirement.

He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Gilberton United Methodist Church.

John had a great interest in sports and was an avid Eagles, Phillies and Penn State fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife Irene Klem Bernathy and a brother Robert Bernathy.

John is survived by his son and daughter Joseph and his wife Connie Bernathy, Paxinos and Christina wife of Patrick Cooney, Ashland and also his grandson Patrick Cooney.

Funeral Services for John will be held Thursday, Jan. 13 ^th at 11 a.m. from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Bob Schreppel officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
