James O. Shoup

James O. "Jim" Shoup , 57, Girardville, passed away peacefully Friday morning at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Clair and Virginia "Ahrensfield" Shoup. He was employed as a truck driver for Lane Trucking and also worked for the borough of Girardville.

Jim was a member of the former Zion Lutheran Church in Girardville.

Jim was preceded in death by two brothers; Joseph and Eugene Shoup and by a sister Virginia Shoup.

Jim is survived by his daughter Rachel Shoup, Girardville, two brothers; William and his wife Judith Shoup of Germanville and Clair John Shoup Jr. of Barnesville, four sisters; Rita Vadimski, Mannville, NJ, Shirley and her husband Alfred Robbins, Frackville, Rachel and her husband Peter Karlovich, Buck Run, Marylou and her husband Dave Bickowski, Morea, two grandchildren; Charizma and Chloe Hiles. Jim is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville, with pastor Rev. Mindy Heppe officiating. Interment will be in the United Protestant Cemetery, "Wildcat", Girardville. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service.
