James E. Meyers

James E. Meyers , 88, Ashland passed away peacefully Sunday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary "Mamie" Kroh Meyers.

He was a graduate of the former Ashland High School and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Jim was a maintenance supervisor for Sunoco in New Brunswick, NJ until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers: Joseph and William and his sister Mary Lou.

Jim is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary J. Porambo Meyers, Ashland; his brother John and his wife Cynthia Meyers, Ashland; step-sons, step-daughters, grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
