James P. Conway

James P. Conway , 69, Girardville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday afternoon at his home.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Peter and Catherine Munley Conway. He was a member of the former St. Joseph's Church, Girardville, now St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland.

Jim was a 1965 graduate of Immaculate Heart High School, Fountain Springs. He received his Bachelor, Master and post graduate education in History from the University of Scranton.

Jim was a devoted brother to his two surviving sisters: Kathryn Conway of Haddon Heights, NJ and Maureen Conway Kaufman and her husband William of Lafayette Hill; his niece Katie Clegg of Omaha, NE and Yulia Conway Kaufman, Lafayette Hill; also survived by several cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland with Rev. Paul Rothermel as the celebrant. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Ashland.
