Jacob T. Opuda

Jacob Thomas Opuda , 32, Girardville, died unexpectedly Friday in Girardville.

Born in Fountain Springs he was a son of John J. and Ruth Ann ( Kennedy ) Opuda, Girardville. He was last employed as a cutter for Tri-State Envelope, Ashland and was a well known DJ in the area.

He had served in the Army reserves. Jake was an avid musician who enjoyed playing guitar and singing while performing as a DJ. He also enjoyed watching the X Files, hunting and fishing but most of all enjoyed spending time with his daughter Adara, family and friends. Jake was a loving son, brother and father who will always be remembered for his wit and humor and was always ready with a joke.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; John and Wanda Opuda and Thomas and Jennie Kennedy, his brother SSG Lucas J. Opuda and his uncle Jim "Cruncher" Kennedy.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his daughter Adara Rose Opuda, his sister Jennifer Marie Opuda, his niece Alycia M. Catizone and grandmother Catherine " Nana " Houser, all of Girardville also by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville, with Rev. Edmund J. Brennan, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
