Irene Balsavage Long

Irene Balsavage Long ,, 71, Girardville, passed away Monday July 12 ^th at home with her family by her side.

Born October 5, 1949, she was the daughter of the late John and Genevieve Balsavage. She worked in the garment industry for many years and was also a secretary.

She loved spending time with her family especially her great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Kerry A. Long and a brother John Balsavage.

She is survived by her son Kerry Long Sr. and his life partner Robin Stayathome of Tamaqua; three grandchildren: Alex Long and his partner Tanya, Ashland, Kerry Long Jr. and his partner Courtney, Girardville, and Hannah Long of Tamaqua; step-grandchildren: Loni Weikel and her partner Nick, Tamaqua, Leighanne Burns , Levittown; 8 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren; a brother Thomas and his wife along with several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family and a celebration of life service will be announced.
