, 93, of Schuylkill Haven, died unexpectedly
Thursday
at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Maxim and Tessie Sedor Comac. She graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Reading. Helen was a US Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific, attaining the rank of Captain in the Army Nurse Corps. She later worked as a Registered Nurse at both of the former Pottsville hospitals. After retiring from nursing, true to her nature, she wanted to stay active. She worked as a hostess for R & J Tours for 17 years, enjoying travel and helping others, until her retirement at the age of 89. She remained active by sewing, reading, walking, baking pies and cheering for the Phillies. Helen truly touched the lives of many, sharing stories, loving life, and devoting her time and care to her family and friends.
She was a devout member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Ivan M. Taylor, formerly of Michigan; two brothers, Peter and Paul Comac and two sisters, Ann Krull and Marie Argeson.
Helen is survived by her son Christian, husband of Pam Taylor, Northampton; her two daughters, Lisa Taylor wife of Joe Weber, Allentown and Beth Martin of Pottsville; two sisters, Eva Ladick and Betty Leskie; her four grandchildren, Jennifer Avon, Orwigsburg, Carly Rinda, Tamaqua, Christian Weber, Allentown and Avery Taylor, Northampton; 1 great-grandson Jayden Rinda and several nieces and nephews.
Helen "Mrs. Taylor" will be forever missed and loved.
Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville with Rev. Petro Zvarych, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends may call at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville on Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. with Parastas at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be held in the parish cemetery, Englewood, Frackville
In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions, in Helen's name, be made to the memorial fund of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church at 243 S. Middle Street Frackville, PA 17931 .
