Helen U. Sims , 92, New Boston, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon at Providence Place, Pottsville.

Born in Maizeville she was a daughter of the late Simeon and Mary Onusconich Unuscavage. She had been employed as the branch manager of M & T bank, Mahanoy City, until her retirement.

She was a graduate of Gilberton High School and McCann School of Business.

She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.

The last member of her immediate family, Helen was preceded in death by her husband John in 2010 and by three sisters; Anna Ambromovage, Nancy Schller and Mary Spinelli also by four brothers; Michael, Samuel, John and Peter Unuscavage.

Helen is survived by her son John A. Sims, Philadelphia and her niece and caretaker Nancy Sawka, Frackville, also by additional nieces and nephews.

Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City, by Rev. James Carroll O.F.M., pastor. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Mahanoy City. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of Liturgy.
