Harvey D. Kreitzer

Harvey Daniel Kreitzer, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and Pop, moved on to a more peaceful and comfortable place on Thursday, December 3, 2009.

Harvey was the son of the late Ulrich and Mary (Helm) Kreitzer, born on September 16, 1921, in Frackville, Pennsylvania.  He was a Production Manager at General Battery Corporation in Hamburg for thirty years.

Harvey bravely served in the United States Army in the European Theater during World War II.  His decorations include a Purple Heart, American Service Medal, and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.  He was a member of The Frackville American Legion, Frackville Senior Citizens where he formerly served as Vice President, Good Will Hose Company, South End Field and Stream, and St. Helena's Church in Blue Bell, Pa

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ulrich, Herman and Bernard, and granddaughter, Erin Kreitzer.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Hazel Cameron; daughter Celeste Moratti of Norristown, son Harvey C. Kreitzer and his wife Barbara (Rowe) of Escondido, California; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Purcell of Pine Grove; and nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Annunciation Catholic Church, Frackville with Rev. Michael Beers as the celebrant. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of mass.
