, 91, Ashland, passed away peacefully Tuesday at Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Girardville, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Assunta DiMauro Deluca. She worked as a cook for Jake's Restaurant, Ashland for many years.
Florence was a devout member of the former St. Joseph's Church, now St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland. She was known for her cooking and her home made soups. She worked as a volunteer for local organizations helping the elderly cook and clean. Florence was a very charitable woman who gave to multiple organizations especially to our Veterans.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John J. Moyer and by her siblings: Ralph, Joseph, Jenny, Peter and Carmen Deluca.
Florence is survived by her 3 sons: John and his wife Carol Moyer, Pittsburgh, Robert and his wife Mary Jo Moyer, Lewes, DE, and Gerald and his wife Deborah Moyer of Ashland. A sister Anna Coon of Fairless Hills and by many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Worship Center of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Girardville with Msgr. William Glosser as the celebrant. Friends may call at the church Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Ashland.
The family requests that flower donations be made for her funeral or memorial donations can be made, in Florence's name, to the St. Charles Borromeo Parish, memorial fund, at 1115 Walnut Street, Ashland, PA 17921
